Post-Sprint Postcard #004
Hi all! We’ve been quite busy since our last post.
Last Friday we held our first live collaboration event, a scavenger hunt co-hosted by Minecraft streamer and builder Yomikester238. His Delfino Plaza map was a fun and interesting proving ground for putting Wayward Words to the test. Yomikester’s viewers’ enthusiasm and parkour skills meant that it took no time at all for them to start uncovering caches. We’re super grateful for the collaboration opportunity and for the feedback, and we’re putting a lot of what we’ve learned into future events and Wayward Words releases.
Emergent Narratives
Kaimerra began as a side passion project, then a mission to bring people together by breaking down the walls that keep our digital spaces needlessly separated. Securing funding enabled us to bring more attention to bear on the project, but we never stopped being powered by our passion for the mission; we’ve been at work developing the means for people to build interesting pathways between the digital spaces they inhabit.
Let’s zoom out and take a look at the year so far:
Wayward Words and Kaimerra Graffiti are two of the products that we’ve created in the first fiveish months of our existence, and over the course of their development we’ve found ourselves moving in unexpected spaces and interesting directions. We’ve been learning about digital accessibility, exploring the ever-changing ways that people create and interact with each other’s content, and talking to folks across industries and interest areas.
For the last six months we’ve stuck to our goals by using our passion to guide us. We have ongoing conversations as a team to evaluate what we’ve accomplished and how it contributes to the mission, while being open and flexible about where there are opportunities for growth and refinement. It is through that adaptability that we’ve gotten to where we are in these six months, and where we will continue to go for the next six, confidently and without compromising our core mission: empowering people to create new digital experiences.
It feels appropriate for Kaimerra’s roadmap to stay mutable, always on the brink of potential metamorphosis, because as a team we’re always chasing new possibilities.
High fives,
Kaimerra.
